MY STORY
I AM PRONE TO PAINT
Literally, I have to paint. Painting is my passion. But beyond that I am literally in a prone position when I paint. Let me explain. I have always loved creating art. I did a fair amount of visual arts in my school years. I even went to college to become a professional artist. That lasted about one quarter. I Loved painting but I hated school. About the time I was flunking Psychology 101 I was offered an opportunity to become a professional musician and jumped on it. After that I pretty much swapped creating paintings for creating music and didn’t get serious about painting again until I was 60. Now I wasn’t one of those professional musicians that made a lot of money so I had to work other jobs to make ends meet. One of those jobs was roofing houses. Well that job helped pay the bills but it cost me a good back. I was severely injured and became temporarily disabled but permanently altered. I currently have multiple ruptured disc and a nasty case of Osteoarthritis in my lower lumbar. That was 30+ years ago and the back has only gotten worse. And that is why I am prone to paint! So I’ve designed an easel that facilitates me painting while laying flat on a cot. Believe me it creates quite a mess, especially when I’m working with charcoal. When I’m finished for the day I look like I just crawled out of a coal mine lol. But it works and I am thankful to be able to paint despite the limitations. Painting is my passion and I am blessed to be able to share it with you. Please check out my Gallery and join me on my socials.
